Kinematics of the local universe . XII. 21-cm line measurements of 586 galaxies with the new Nançay receiver This paper presents 586 new 21-cm neutral hydrogen line measurementscarried out with the FORT receiver of the meridian transit Nançayradiotelescope in the period July 2000-March 2003. This observationalprogramme is part of a larger project aiming at collecting an exhaustiveand magnitude-complete HI extragalactic catalogue for Tully-Fisherapplications. It is associated with the building of the MIGALEspectroscopic archive and database.Tables 2, 3 and HI-profiles and corresponding comments are onlyavailable in electronic form at the CDS via anonymous ftp tocdsarc.u-strasbg.fr (130.79.128.5) or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/cgi-bin/qcat?J/A+A/430/373, or directly atour web site http://klun.obs-nancay.fr
| Accurate Positions for MCG Galaxies We have measured accurate celestial coordinates for 4741 extragalacticobjects, primarily drawn from a list of MCG galaxies with no recentlypublished accurate positions. The standard deviations in the newpositions depend slightly on the measurement method but are on the orderof 1.0" to 1.2". Standard deviations in the original MCG positions areconfirmed to be at the 1.5′-2.0′ level. These new positionswere integrated into NED in 1997 December.
| Far-ultraviolet stellar photometry: A field in Orion Far-ultraviolet photometry for 625 objects in Orion is presented. Thesedata were extracted from electrographic camera images obtained duringsounding rocket flights in 1975 and 1982. The 1975 images were centeredclose to the belt of Orion while the 1982 images were centeredapproximately 9 deg further north. One hundred and fifty stars fell inthe overlapping region and were observed with both cameras. Sixty-eightpercent of the objects were tentatively identified with known starsusing the SIMBAD database while another 24% are blends of objects tooclose together to separate with our resolution. As in previous studies, the majority of the identified ultraviolet sources are early-type stars. However, there are a significant number for which no such identificationwas possible, and we suggest that these are interesting objects whichshould be further investigated. Seven stars were found which were brightin the ultraviolet but faint in the visible. We suggest that some ofthese are nearby white dwarfs.
| Southern extension of the Perseus Supercluster? In order to investigate in 3D the galaxian density enhancement locatedin the south of the Pisces Perseus Supercluster, a redshift survey isconducted of early-type galaxies with a diameter greater than 1 arcminin a region bounded by 20 h and 6 h, and -20 and 0 deg. Data presentedinclude those for 157 radial velocities which, added to all thepreviously known redshifts in this region, show a galaxy distributionconcentrated around 5000 km/s and the presence of a void of about 25/hMpc. These two characteristics are the same as the ones found by Haynesand Giovanelli (1989), in the northern part of the Pisces PerseusSupercluster, suggesting that it could extend toward the south. Acomparison with the recent data obtained in the same region byPellegrini et al. (1990) is presented.
